Judith Kay Curtin
Judith Kay Curtin was born October 20, 1942, in Independence, MO, to Dorothy and Chester Sewell, and passed away October 28, 2024, at the age of 82.
She was a resident of the Watonga community for many years and retired from the school district there.
She received her Master of Art in Secondary education in 1985 and an Education Specialist in 1993.
She was a member of the First Baptist church, the quilting guild, and volunteered at the Senior Citizen’s center, where she was previously president.
Judy was loved by so many. She had a gift and joy for embroidery and quilting; you could always find her with a project in her hands. Her gift was shared at many festivals, where she was honored with blue ribbons and several “Best of Show” awards. She gifted her quilts to family and was often asked to make one for others.
Judy enjoyed her church family and her time with bible study. She spoke of the senior center game and music nights. As a retired teacher and librarian, she shared her love and passion of books with her children and grandchildren. Judy enjoyed watching any sports, but she was specifically fond of watching her two sons play baseball; this love carried over to watching her grandchildren in their talent of sports and music. She will be deeply missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Curtin, Mother, Dorothy Sewell, and Father, Chester Sewell.
