JoAnn Biggs

JoAnn Biggs, 89, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Born on August 28, 1935, in El Reno, Oklahoma, JoAnn lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a dedication to her family and community. JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Biggs, whom she married on February 16, 1953. Together, they built a life rooted in love and mutual respect. JoAnn was also preceded in death by her sons, Steven Biggs and Kevin Biggs, and her granddaughter, Katlyn Biggs. JoAnn’s life was a testament to the power of family. She is survived by her children, Allen Biggs, Wayne Biggs (Debbie), Curtis Biggs (Connie), Randy Biggs, and Marilyn Butler (Eric). Her legacy lives on in her numerous grandchildren: Chris Biggs (Donna), Cathy Biggs, Barry Hays (Annie), Chad Biggs, Melissa Glover (Katheryn), Beth Ronspiez (Jeremy), Amy Biggs, Darci Thompson (Nick), Lindsey Mingo (Ca’Wayne), Josh Biggs, Allison Crothers, Macy Butler, and Brenden Butler. She was also blessed with a host of great-grandchildren: Taylor Biggs, Jentry Biggs, Sydney Biggs, Kayla Northrip (Sawyer Blackwell), Heather Akers (Tyler Tomson), Daniel Biggs, Zac Biggs, Shandolyn Biggs, Jordan Bodin (Colby), Gabe Biggs, Gage Ronspiez (Dominique King), Lane Ronspiez (Roxanne Newman), Hannah Hays, Leah Hays, Aidan Biggs, Emilie Thompson, Blake Thompson, Jaymond Mingo, Zoe Mingo, A’Mare Mingo. Only adding more joy to her later years was the addition of great-great-grandchildren: Kennadee Kimber, Aurora Bodin, Noah Bodin, Draco Burris, Lilee Ronspiez, Derrick Burris, Zaya King, Zoey King, Harper Ronspiez. JoAnn’s education began at Geary Public Schools, but her true calling was being the heart of her family. She was known for her loving and forgiving nature, her kindness, and the smile that rarely left her face. JoAnn’s home was a place of warmth and welcome, especially during the 4th of July celebrations in Hitchcock and the large family gatherings where she brought joy to all with her famous homemade German chocolate cake. JoAnn was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and her faith was very important to her throughout her lifetime. In addition to her immediate family, JoAnn is survived by her brothers, Bob McCray (Stella) and Ronnie Duncan (Carolyn), and her sister, Linda Warner (Rob). Their bond was a source of strength and comfort to her throughout her life. JoAnn’s family invites all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene, Oklahoma. The Rosary will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 6:00 PM, and the Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Cottonwood Cemetery, Hitchcock OK. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene. JoAnn’s passing leaves a void that will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering family dedication will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure
