In Memory of Jim Pierce

James William “Jim” Pierce was born November 8, 1936 at Watonga, Oklahoma to James Richard and Frankie Jane (McDaniel) Pierce and passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at the age of 84.


Jim was lifetime resident of the Watonga community where he owned and operated Jim’s IGA for 46 years with his wife, Reba. In 2011 Jim and Reba retired closing their lifelong business. He graduated from Watonga High School in 1954 and after graduation he married Reba Compton at Watonga, Oklahoma on June 10, 1954. Together they shared 65 years of marriage. Jim not only enjoyed running his business, he was a landowner and farmer/rancher. He loved his cattle and farming as well as cooking. He enjoyed being outdoors, but most of all he loved his family.


Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Reba; one son, Rodney Pierce; one granddaughter, Karlie Pierce; one sister, Frankie Humphrey and one brother, Bill Pierce.


He is survived by:

8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.


Funeral services for Jim will be held Friday, December 4th, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Nazarene Church in Watonga with Rev. Kason Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga.


Masks and social distancing will be required at the service.
