In Memory of Carl T. Woulard

Obituary

In Watonga, Oklahoma, on January 1st, 1955, Theophilus and Velma Woulard were blessed with their only son, Carl Tremal Woulard Sr. He was called from labor to reward on March 2nd, 2022. Due to his father’s work ethic, at a young age he was taught how to complete multiple jobs on the farm, including driving a tractor, plowing and harvesting fields, and handling livestock. Working hard was a foundational principle that was instilled in him. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Union Baptist.

Carl attended Dunbar Elementary and excelled in basketball at Watonga High School becoming all state in 1974. After graduation, he took his athletic talent to Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas. Upon returning to his hometown, Carl obtained his commercial driver’s license and worked for Safeway grocery store, Hamm & Philips, LuGreg Trucking, &Testco Inc. Driving a “big rig” for many years he traveled from Oklahoma to places like Mexico and California. Later in life he took over his father’s janitorial and lawn care contracts working for companies such as, Wheeler Brothers Grain Co. Inc. and a variety of small businesses, residential properties and government agencies.

Carl fathered three children, Jasmine, CJ, Karley Rose, and raised his stepchildren Paul and Tiffany, however was most proud when his grandchildren Kazaviues and Jazara were born in 2011 and Logic in 2018. Being a grandfather gave him great joy, he could always be found at dance recitals and sporting events. He loved to play with the grands and great nieces and nephews. After a 20+ year courtship he married Teresa Rinker July 6th, 2017 and they enjoyed football gatherings together cheering on OU and those Dallas Cowboys. He was the family’s grill chef, barbequing during family functions, he liked gardening with his wife, and continued the tradition of a hard work ethic by teaching his grandchildren how to mow the lawn.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Theophilus and Velma Woulard, sisters Lee Michele Smith, Patricia Pettus, and stepdaughter Tiffany McLemore. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Teresa Woulard, children Jasmine Woulard, CJ Woulard, Karley Woulard, and Paul McLemore, grandchildren Kazaviues, Jazara, and Logic, his sister Cynthia (Aaron) Wizgen, his brother James Friday, his nieces and nephews Durant Jones, Melonae Jones, Tameka Rodgers, Collin Wizgen, Leigh Ashley (Tanze) Utley, Beverly Smith, and a host of great nieces, nephews, an aunt, cousins, and dear friends.

Carl’s lifelong time in Watonga gained him many friendships. His absence will be sadly felt, but, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

A viewing will take place Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. at which point we will move to the Union Baptist Church in Watonga for Carl's Wake. The wake will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. and is open to the public. A private funeral services, reserved for immediate family and close friends only, will be held Friday at the Union Baptist Church.
