Calvin “Cal” Lee Butler

Cal was born October 7, 1931 and passed away March 10, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born to Jesse Lee and Bessie Butler; he was the youngest of six children.

Cal was a life-long resident of Watonga, Oklahoma. He graduated from Watonga High School, then enlisted for four years in the Air Force. On March 12, 1959, he married Bonnie Durham; to this union, three children were born, Susan Gearhart of Miami, TX, Carol Rice of Watonga, as well as the late Calvin Butler II.

Through the years he owned and operated several restaurants and was a real estate broker; he retired in 1989. He enjoyed visiting with friends at Hutch’s, reading the bible and the occasional fishing adventures with his great-grand kids.

Cal was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one son: Calvin Jr.

He is survived by:

Two daughters…………………… Susan Gearhart and husband Danny of Miami, TX.

…………………………………………... Carol and her husband Warren of Watonga, OK.

Seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

Cal was a kindhearted man who will be missed by many.

Graveside services for Calvin “Cal” Lee Butler will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery Chapel in Watonga with Chaplain Larry Mitchell officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
