Betty Lou (Matli) Rogers

Betty Lou (Matli) Rogers was born October 26, 1933, at their home place, North of Watonga, to Louis Charles and Doris Ione (Brown) Matli, and passed away January 9, 2025, at the age of 91.

She was a resident of the Watonga community for most of her life, aside from the time she and her husband Earl spent living in Washington while he was in the service. She was a homemaker, tenderly caring for those she loved. She was an avid oil painter, and taught oil painting classes in their home for many years. She could play piano and the saxophone and enjoyed bird watching and was a wonderful seamstress- making many clothing pieces for her children and grandchildren. She attended Watonga high school and graduated in 1951. She was a member of the Christian Church in Watonga, the Women’s Home Extension, and the Blaine County Election Board. She married Earl Rogers at their home, North of Watonga, on August 20, 1953; they celebrated 70 years married.

She is survived by her husband, Earl, of the home in Watonga.

Two sons…………………... Greg Rogers (Joyce) of Watonga, Oklahoma

                                          Joel Rogers (Theresa) of Yukon, Oklahoma.

One daughter……………. Linda Oler (Bob) of Watonga, Oklahoma.

As well as seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A private family graveside will be held for Betty on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
