Jimmy Dale Malaney
Jimmy Dale Malaney was born October 11, 1948 at Watonga, OK to Fred Alexander and Uva Lorraine Malaney and passed away August 31, 2020 at the age of 71.
Jim was a graduate of Watonga High School in 1966 and then went on to Odessa College of Nursing in Odessa, TX where he graduated in 1970. After graduation, Jim was employed with Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton, OK where he was appointed Director of Emergency Room and then opened and staffed the Hemodialysis Unit. In 1972 Jim was elected into the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma LPN Assoc. and then re-elected 2 years later in 1974.
Within the next several years, Jim was named District Nurse of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Licensed Practical Nurses, appointed by Governor Boren to Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, worked on the Board of Directors at New Horizons Mental Health Association and was also named Oklahoma State Nurse of the Year. He was an EMT instructor with Western Area Vo-Tech in Burns Flat, OK for several years before he moved to Integris Baptist Hospital where he worked as the staff nurse, ICU nurse and a nurse in the Cardiac Step-Down Unit and the Cardiac Monitoring Unit. In 1996 Jim was named the Cardiovascular Nurse of the Year. In 2010 he retired from Integris Baptist Medical Center. He also served 2 years as the Resident Council President of Grace Living Center, Bethany, OK. Jim was a member of the St. Eugene Catholic Church in The Village, OK.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, one brother Freddy Malaney and two sisters; Carolyn McCain and Betty Reeves.
He is survived by six nieces and nephews; Paul Reeves Jr., Mickey Reeves, Patrick Reeves, Cindy Reeves, Betsy Taylor, and Lavonnie Baker and his sister-in-law Ladonna Malaney; several great nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass for Jimmy Dale Malaney will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Eugene Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, OK with Father Don Wolf and Father Vic Luong officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, OK with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
Viewing for Mr. Malaney will be Thursday, September 3, 2020 starting at 9:00 A.M. and his Wake will be held that evening starting at 6:00 P.M. at Wilkinson Mortuary in Watonga, OK.
